Upon a recent perusal of an Al-Hayat article (link here) BeirutStateofMind happened upon a quite fascinating development in the ongoing conflict in Syria… The "late" Michael Winner may be playing an active role in the Syrian opposition. The infamous British thespian famed for his celluloid endorsement of car insurance and “platonic” obsession with Charles Bronson has recently been spotted posing under the alias of Samir Aita – supposedly a leading figure within the Syrian opposition democratic council. Possesing an unforeseen mastery of the Arabic language Winner has recently been spotted in both New York and Washington seeking to raise support for the opposition to embattled President Bashar al-Assad.
